My wife and I made our way from Ohio to a handful of places we’ve never visited, but always wanted to see last November. We visited Buffalo, Boston, Salem, and Provincetown on our trip. I squirreled away as much as I could each day so I could add it to my Traveler’s memory journal once we got home.
2024 was the first year of my adult life that I managed to keep a journal consistently. Junk/memory journaling has opened up a door for me to express myself and relieve stress. I love that Quinn and I are now able to just grab this finished notebook from the shelf anytime we want to reminisce on the wonderful time we had on this trip.
Buffalo & Niagara Falls, NY

We visited a close friend on our way through to Massachusetts. We saw Niagara Falls at night, ate some delicious burgers at Mister Sizzle’s, and hung out with some really cute critters.
Boston, MA

Boston was a truly lovely city. We could see the harbor from our room. Kane’s changed my life. Vegan and gluten free!? I still think about the damn blueberry donut at least every other day. We walked around Faneuil Hall, got to hear some incredible street performers, and even got a fortune from Zoltar.
Salem & Newton, MA

We visited a lot of the Hocus Pocus locations as one does in Salem. Max and Danny’s house was so much closer to the water than I thought it was. We took an incredible tour with the Satanic Temple that focused on the history and less on the supernatural aspects of Salem. I learned so much and really appreciated the perspective of this walking tour. We met a cool dog named Satan and ate a delicious pizza at Flying Saucer.
On our way to Provincetown, Quinn surprised me with a stop at The Paper Mouse in Newton! It was amazing to see a stationery shop I buy from online in person. I spent way too much money and even got to stamp my journal!
Purchases:
Pen - TWSBI Eco Irish Green (B)
Ink - Troublemaker Butterfly Dream
I picked up this pen and ink combo cause it reminded me of Quinn and I’s wedding colors.
Provincetown, MA

Our trip to Provincetown was nothing short of magical. To be in such a loving and accepting place was everything we needed. Provincetown is the epitome of hope. It breathes new life into you. We spent much of our days there walking Commercial Street. We ate delicious food at the Grilled Cheese Gallery, Mac’s Seafood, and Bay Cafe. We bought books and trinkets. We stayed at the gorgeous Brasswood Inn, which will definitely be where we stay for any future trips to P-Town. When we visited the beach, we ended up seeing seals out in the water and a fox in the parking lot!
This trip brought us so much peace. It was incredible to experience so many new places with the love of my life.
I cannot wait to do more traveling and of course I’ll be journaling as much as I can along the way.
